INTERNATIONAL WUDEBEI
TRADITIONAL WUSHU COMPETITION 2019
Since the International Wudebei went abroad for the first time, we have planned our future schedule; 2 years abroad, 1 year back in Singapore; try our best to let more traditional martial arts enthusiasts get in touch with our events and join us in promoting traditional martial arts. Unfortunately, man proposes, God disposes. We encountered unprecedented obstacles and almost failed to hold the event. I remember that it was originally planned to be held in Hong Kong, but unfortunately the weather was not good. The country had riots, which severely hit its own economy and tourism industry; and we were unable to continue the previously planned events. Then we hurried to Penang, Malaysia to ask for help from the local Wushu Association and many associations. Although we were very happy to receive their enthusiastic support, unfortunately, when we were looking for a gymnasium, we returned in vain, and the gymnasium was not available. In the last 2 months, we successfully reached an agreement with the Malaysian National Shanfu Temple Cultural Bureau to bring the International Wude Cup to Kuala Lumpur!
Although the event was full of twists and turns and time was tight, we also successfully received unprecedented and enthusiastic support! Not only that, the participating countries are from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Macau, South Africa, Italy, Spain and so on. Everyone communicated with each other, appreciated skills, established friendships, and completed two days of exciting competitions in joy!
Today, I would like to take this special issue to thank the Chairman of the Malaysian National Shanfu Temple Cultural Bureau and the Overseas General Supervisor of the International Wudebei (Kuala Lumpur Station): Master Wei Yutan for his great help, which once again confirmed the truth that "wushu has no nationality, and the martial arts world is one family."
